Today we learned how knights used catapults to protect the castle.
Ready, Aim, Fire!

So easy to make!

Materials needed: large paper clip, index card, square piece of construction paper, tape, and a pom pom.

Sand Castles

This week we are learning about castles. Yesterday we discussed the different characteristics of castles such as towers, drawbridge, moats....  I filled the sensory table with (dry) sand and placed a basket of sand castle molds, shovels and buckets next to it.  It didn't take long for them to discover that the dry sand would not work.  This led to a group discussion on what we should do.  One student suggested that we add water to the sand to make it stronger!  I love watching them figure things out on their own!!

Trying to become a blogger!

I am still struggling with getting the hang of this.  I am impressed and inspired by all the great teachers out there who make blogging look so easy.  I refuse to give up!
